The copper twisted pair cables are of course a restriction to multiplexed digital streams but much more speed than typical less than 1Mbps is there and presently available. T he bottleneck is stream processing. It would be a far greater deal for users if ofcom forced service suppliers to specify guaranteed minimum speeds rather than the farcical 'up to' speeds presently being sold. ofcom seem to be an agency for the suppliers not the consumers. True and fair info in an info industry please.
