If more organisations were encouraged to prolong the life of existing equipment through repair work, we’d soon see a significant drop in the amount of e-waste produced in the UK. This would not only help the government to meet its WEEE directive targets despite the pressures on its budget – it would also have the added benefit of helping organisations to cut costs of their own.
