Under the headline, “Meet the new Marshmallow from HTC”, the device will come with all the new features included in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, including better app management, improved battery power, Android Pay and even the possibility of a fingerprint scanner.

Coming Soon

HTC inviteHTC was initially thought to be planning a launch event this week, but the company appears to have delayed this so to have not clashed with the unveiling of Google’s new Nexus smartphones last night.

There had been doubts raised recently as to HTC’s future in the smartphone industry, given that the company laid off 15 percent of its workforce last month as part of a reorganisation into three business units as it looked to narrow its focus and return to profitability after a number of difficult months.

HTC’s last flagship, the One M9, was launched back at Mobile World Congress in March.
