Whats a Zemlin? Some 70s rock band? How about Zemlin look more into the company's which are working with Linux and not respecting the licenses it uses?Jeremy Allison has made an excellent point on Moody's blog that should be looked into. Not matter what Zem and Horacio tell you, it IS about Linux. Its another one of those extortion scheme which they did with Novell and to a lesser extent Linspire. We have proof from released court documents which show how the top levels of Redmond think of Linux and the lengths they will go to destroy it. This is in the same vein.NOTHING Steve Ballmer or any heads of Microsoft have said in the past 2 years even hint that they have changed their stance. As for the low level managers they send to the open sauce conferences, they are not the final say. Do you listen to Jobs or some manager in charge of erasers and turtlenecks to see which way the company goes?Ballmer has not changed one bit since the claims that Linux violates 235 of their patents nor when he said that Red Hat users owe Microsoft money because RH stole their IP (and he mentions that Novell/Suse is the legit Linux since its paid the extortion fees for those 'stolen' patents). This 'detente' is nothing more than placing themselves for the next move because when you listen to what comes from the top, the song remains the same.

Zemlin knows very well that OIN does not work against Microsoft patents. His remarks about "it is a private dispute between 2 companies" is silly as it can get, maybe he will wait that Redhat get also licensed and that there won´t be any FAT support for RH users to mount their USB key?The patent policy of the Linux Foundation is made by IBM, who wants to profit from software patents and have Linux at the same time. Sorry, this is impossible.
