All your daily shopping needs are covered with brands such as Starbucks, Red Bull and Doritos now included in speedy ordering

Emergency home shopping just got a bit easier after Amazon announced an expansion to its speedy Dash button ordering service.

The online retail giant has revealed that it has signed up a huge number of new partners to take the total number of goods that can be ordered just by pressing a button to more than a hundred.

The new acquisitions cover all kinds of home grocery needs, and include big brands such as Charmin, Huggies, Energizer and even Starbucks.

Rush job

Costing $4.99, the buttons now include a similar amount in discounts from your first order, as Amazon looks to sell itself as your one-stop shop.

The Button connects to the Amazon mobile app (available on both iOS and Android, as well as Amazon’s Fire phones) via your home’s Wi-Fi network, meaning you can order items such as food, washing powder, nappies or kitchen items just by pushing a button.

Amazon then sends an order alert to your phone, so it’s easy to cancel an order. Multiple presses won’t equal multiple orders, unless the user confirms they want this feature enabled, to ensure that nothing gets ordered by accident.

However, there’s still no news on a UK release for Dash yet.

“We’re thrilled with the positive response we’ve seen for Dash Buttons—and we heard loud and clear from customers that they wanted more brands, more categories, and more products in the program. We’re excited to now offer over 100 Dash Buttons representing top-name brands across dozens of retail categories and thousands of product options,” said Daniel Rausch, director of Amazon Dash.

“Prime members are using Dash Buttons at an increasing rate—over the last three months, Dash Button orders have grown by more than 75 percent. Customers are using Dash Buttons more than once a minute, helping ensure they never run out of their everyday essentials.”

The expansion of Dash is the latest step in Amazon’s evolution into an all-round retail powerhouse.

In the UK, the company has teamed up with Morrisons to offer home delivery of food products, giving Amazon Prime Now and Amazon Pantry customers access to ‘hundreds’ of Morrisons products in the company’s fresh, frozen and ‘ambient’ ranges.

Amazon Pantry, which offers more than 4,000 everyday essential items from beer to pet food, delivered directly to the customer’s door, launched in the UK back in November following a successful launch in the US 18 months ago.
